Paper and Cardboard
Ever wondered what ever happened to old paper and cardboard after you feed Mr. Murph? Here’s a quick run down…
After separating paper by type, a recycler transports it to a paper mill where its shredded and mixed into a pulp to eventually make new products….things like your daily newspaper, egg cartons, paper plates, construction paper, a phone book…or even kitty litter or sheetrock. Magazines? They get a second life as packaging, paper towel rolls or roof shingle backing.
Cardboard can come back in a number of different forms…such as paper bags, paperboard packaging and new cardboard boxes. And, all the recycled notebook and computer paper you throw away…you just may see them again in the form of toilet paper, facial tissue, paper towels and napkins.
Pretty cool, huh?
