Quick question…Do you how much trash the average American creates every single day?
Answer—Almost 4.5 pounds a day. Now, multiply that amount by 300 million people (US pop.) and think of the amount of trash that Americans produce each day. Nearly 1.35 trillion pounds!
That’s a lot of hamburger wrappers and coke cans, isn’t it?
Here’s another question–Where do you think that trash usually ends up?
You’re right, in big trash dumps we call landfills. Landfills are necessary because we need a place where we can put trash safely without it bothering us. I don’t think any of us wants to walk around with garbage in our yards or in the street, do we? We have to put it somewhere and landfills are the cleanest and safest place we have.
With all the garbage we make, though, you can imagine that landfills everywhere will get bigger…unless we come up with some innovative alternatives for disposing of our trash.
That’s exactly why we came up with the idea to build Mr. Murph at our location in Tulsa.
Mr. Murph greatly increases our ability to separate recyclables and generate material to be reused in the manufacturing process.
Not only does this greatly reduce the amount of waste going to the landfill, but it lessens our overall impact on the environment because there’s not as much trash.
What does that mean for Tulsa? Less trash going to the landfill. Cleaner environment for you… and me.
